Genetic constructivism Book

 It’s official!

Today, Routledge officially published the first edition of the book "Implementing a New Mathematics Curriculum Based on Genetic Constructivism" as part of the ERME Book Series.

I had the distinct privilege of working alongside Naďa Vondrová to co-author the chapter "Genetic Constructivism in the Classroom."

Mental and Unconventional brackets

Happy to share the pubication of our joint paper (co-authored with Athina Thoma and Mustafa Guler) on The Journal of Mathematical Behavior. 

This paper ends a trip that started with examining the use of mental and unconventional brackets by primary school stusents (co-authored with Robert Gunnarrsson and published on the Educational Studies in Mathematics), continued with secondary education students (the paper is co-authored with Athina Thoma and is published on the Internation Journal of Science and Mathematics Education), and ended now with examining university students.

Γιώργος Βεντίστας: Η επαλήθευση ως ενέργεια ελέγχου στην γεωμετρική επίλυση προβλήματος.

Σε μια περίοδο που η εκπαίδευση είναι στο επίκεντρο των συζητήσεων για μια σειρά από άλλα θέματα, είναι σημαντικό να υπάρχουν νέα παιδιά που κάνουν την έρευνα στη Διδακτική των Μαθηματικών κέντρο των ενδιαφερόντων τους. H Ομάδα Διδακτικής Μαθηματικών του Εργαστηρίου μας δηλώνει παρούσα στις φετινές εργασίες του συνεδρίου της Ενωσης Ερευνητών Διδακτικής Μαθηματικών (Ενεδιμ11) στο Ηράκλειο με πέντε εργασίες. Η Δέσποινα Μπούφτα, η Ραφαέλα Καρακαξά, η Βρισηίδα Γκόμπτζια, η Ελένη Ρίζου , ο Giorgos Ventistas, η Nafsika Pats, η Athina Thoma κι εγώ εργαστήκαμε γι αυτές με κέφι και μεράκι. Τα θέματά μας αφορούν τη δημιουργία ανοικτών προβλημάτων, τη διαδικασία Δημιουργίας Προβλήματος είτε ατομικά είτε σε συνεργασία με την Τεχνητή Νοημοσύνη, την επαγγελματική ικανότητα παρατήρησης των εκπαιδευτικών και την επαλήθευση στην επίλυση προβλήματος ως ενέργεια ελέγχου
